These Installation Instructions describe the essential steps for using this product. Please also observe the relevant standards and guidelines, in particular the occupational health and safety regulations.
The gutters / trench drains always have a slotted channel body through which the accumulating water is directed to the outlets via appropriately dimensioned drainage layers.
Installation:
Facade and Terrace Channel FTR are suitable for direct installation in loose materials. As these are aluminum channels, installation in mortar is not possible.
Several gutter / trench drains are connected using connectors. When folded up, these form the end of the gutter / trench drain. One connector is supplied with each gutter / trench drain.
If corner pieces are required, these are laid in the same way as the gutter / trench drains described above. The prefabricated 90° corners are supplied with one connector each, just like the gutter / trench drains.
The height is adjusted from above by unscrewing the screws.
Cutting:
The front wall / facade and terrace gutters can be cut to size using a standard angle grinder with a metal disk. The gutter / trench drain must be shortened on the perforated half so that the screws used as supports can be offset. With aluminium grating, the reinforcement bar closest to the cut may need to be moved.
In the case of galvanized metal grate / grid, the sharp edges must be deburred after cutting and the interfaces protected against corrosion, e.g. with cold galvanizing spray.
