Preliminary marks:
The installation of the dam-up element must be carried out on a smooth surface above water outlets with a contact flange. Therefore, there must not be joints or seams in the area of the dam-up element. In the case of bituminous waterproofings, the surface under the dam-up element should be smoothed with liquid sealing. The surface in the area of the roof outlet should be as even as possible. Minor unevenness can be levelled out by the rubber sealing of the stainless steel flange.
Please consider the load-bearing capacity of the roof construction if you plan with a water dam-up. The emergency drainage must be planned at a suitable height (higher than the max. water dam-up). The overflow pipe does not replace it.
For water outlets with a clamping flange the inner diameter of the ring nut must be larger than 280 mm. With smaller diameters please consult the Zinco technical department.
Installation steps:
- Place stainless steel flange above roof outlet.
- With multiple roof outlets, the dam-up height must be the same level for all dam-up elements, we recommend the use of an all-around laser. The desired dam-up height is reached by screwing the plastic overflow pipe in or out.
- Once all the dam-up elements have the required height, the plastic pipe is fixed by hand with the nut (locked), therefore hold the plastic pipe in place.
