1 Connector (no Fastening devices included) Recommended Fastening devices: e.g., Spax 8 x 120 mm
TSH 80 / TSH 100 support brackets can be used on roof slopes ≥ 10° (does not comply with DIN 18195, DIN 18531, and guidelines for flat roof construction).
Use only where there is no water pressure as defined by DIN 18195.
Preliminary remarks:
The installation and sealing of the TSH 80 / TSH 100 vary depending on the sealing material used.
Installation is typically performed on wooden rafters made of solid wood, structural solid wood (KVH), or similar suitable substrates. The rafter width should be at least 75 mm. The TSH 80 / TSH 100 is positioned centrally.
When installing in wooden shuttering or solid wood, the installer must procure suitable fasteners. The required thickness of the shuttering must be observed based on these fasteners. The selected fasteners must be capable of withstanding a load of at least 1.5 kN for the TSH 80 and at least 3 kN for the TSH 100.
Installation steps for the TSH 80 / TSH 100 support brackets:
- Measure and perform marking on the installation positions.
- Install the TSH 80 / TSH 100 at the marked positions using 3 or 4 Spax screws (or equivalent) in accordance with best practices. Ensure that the screws are driven perpendicular to the roof slope.
- Cut the waterproofing membranes to size.
Waterproofing of the roof with bitumen and polymer-modified bitumen:
Apply a primer to the TSH in the area to be sealed. Bitumen and polymer-modified bitumen membranes must be installed in accordance with regulations, using at least two layers. The overlap of the first layer must extend at least 80 mm beyond the TSH; the second layer must also be welded with an overlap of at least 80 mm beyond the first layer. For single-layer bitumen waterproofing, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Waterproofing of the roof with plastic or elastomer membranes:
The waterproofing membrane must be cut to size so that manual welding can be performed properly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Notice:
Waterproofing membranes rubberised on the underside with release or protective fleece must not be used
Recommendation:
Fill the gap between the TSH and the loose waterproofing membrane laid over it with a suitable spray material (e.g., silicone). - Finally, inspect all welded seams of the waterproofing membrane cut-to-size pieces.
