Wicking Mat DV 40 is laid loosely on drainage elements with at least 10 cm overlapping, including at head joints. The Wicking Mat DV 40 must be rolled out so that the fibers of the Membrane protrude into the chambers of the drainage element. The overlapping must take place at the one-sided fibre-free edge of the wicking fleece. The Membrane is not raised at the edges of roof / perimeter and rising structural elements. To ensure that the entire surface is supplied with water without loss, the Membrane must be prevented from sagging or overhanging. A gravel strip must therefore be provided at the edge of roof / perimeter and around penetrations. The Wicking Mat DV 40 must be temporarily secured against blowing away after installation. It must be covered immediately after installation to protect it against UV radiation.
Cutting:
The Membrane must be cut with suitable fiber scissors. Over roof outlets, the Wicking Mat DV 40 must be cut to at least the size of the outlet; a cross cut is not sufficient
