Important notice:

We expressly point out that, irrespective of product liability, ZinCo only accepts liability for advice if the installation is carried out in accordance with our planning. Installation without planning by ZinCo is at your own risk. The Installation Instructions and the Instructions for Use must be observed regardless of this.

The following points must be checked before installing the Fallnet® SR anchor device:

0.1 Scope of delivery/condition of the system components

To be checked:

Is the delivery complete and in perfect condition?

Important: Incomplete, faulty or defective deliveries must be reported immediately.

The scope of delivery per Fallnet® SR consists of:

  • Anchor point:

  • Load-bearing disc (2.00 × 2.67 m) consisting of four pre-attached grid elements:

0.2 Checking the initial situation

Before starting installation, check that the roof structure is sufficiently dimensioned for the loads to be applied, that the waterproofing / sealing and, if necessary, root protection are in place and that the actual substrate for the Fallnet® SR is laid professionally and level and has an inclination of no more than 5 degrees (= 8.8 %). If there are any doubts, these must be clarified before installation. The substrate must be free of dirt, oil, algae, etc. for the installation of Fallnet® SR. The surface may need to be swept. E.g. must be swept off.

0.3 Basic information

Fallnet® SR can be installed, for example

  • on the protective layer over the waterproofing / sealing (e.g. ZinCo Protection Mat / Moisture Retention SSM 45 for a single-layer green roof)
  • on the Filter Sheet (for multi-layer greening)
  • Ensure that there are no objects (e.g. concrete slabs) in the area around the anchor point (radius of at least 0.5 m) that could prevent the column (for support) from buckling as planned.
  • It must also be ensured that the bulk material to be placed on Fallnet® SR as a Superimposed / extra load protrudes at least 50 cm beyond the grid elements on all four sides.

Important:

Direct contact with the Superimposed / extra load is always required! For this purpose, the Fallnet® SR must be completely infilled and covered with suitable bulk material (UV protection!).

This can be done using Zincolit® or ZinCo System Substrate, gravel / grit 16/32 mm or a comparable bulk material. Installation is permitted up to a roof slope of max. 5 degrees (= 8.8 %)!

The required Superimposed / extra load (dry weight) for the Fallnet® SR is at least 110 kg/m². This must be increased to 130 kg/m² if the roof slope is more than 2° (3.4 %) and a fall in the downward direction is possible.

If the Fallnet® SR is integrated into a Green Roof, a gravel strip at least 0.30 m wide should be provided around the anchor point to make it more visible.

1.1 Measuring the anchor point

The position of the anchor point must be measured with the help of a roof elevation plan. Ensure that the anchorage point is at least 2.50 m from the building edge / drop edge.

Einmessen des Anschlagpunktes

1.2 Connect the marked grid element to the anchor point

Insert the centrally punched opening of the colored element of the pre-attached grid element (1.00 ×1.33 m) over the anchor point and carefully snap it into place with foot pressure so that it rests fully on the base plate and the vertical strips of the base plate engage behind the outer web of the adjacent black grid elements.

1.3 Positioning the grid element including anchor point

The grid element including anchor point is positioned at the measured point (see 1.1).

Positionieren der Rastergruppe

1.4 Connecting the four grid elements

The three other grid elements are then joined together so that the anchor point is in the center of the assembled grid area. In total, the four pre-assembled grid element units form a continuous panel of approximately / approx. 5.3 m². The Fallnet® SR must lie completely on a level surface and all connection points must be engaged. Engaged elements can be released by tapping them with a hammer. Defective elements must be replaced.

1.5 Applying the required Superimposed / extra load

The finished Fallnet® SR is now infilled and covered with the Superimposed / extra load (e.g. ZinCo System Substrate or gravel / grit 16/32 mm), for requirements see 0.3 Basic information.

2. Adaptation to project-specific features

Fallnet® SR offers the option of adapting the standard shape (2.00 × 2.67 m) to the structural conditions if required.

a

By repositioning the individual grid elements, rising structural elements or fans, outlets, etc. can be embedded, for example. Please note that the anchor point must not be positioned in the two outer rows of grid elements. In addition, the anchor point must be positioned in the center of a grid element (0.33 × 0.33 m). There must be at least 20 grid elements behind the anchor point in the direction of loading. It is recommended that such non-standard installations are planned or checked by ZinCo.

3.1 Completion, identification mark

Check that all work has been properly completed and that the identification mark is clearly and permanently visible. Only anchor devices marked with a sticker may be used.

3.2 Installation documentation

The installation documentation provides the client with proof that the installation has been carried out correctly. In addition, it is the indispensable basis for a later inspection of the Fallnet® anchor device(s). A template for the installation documentation is available as a pdf file from the manufacturer. Copies of the documentation must be handed over to the client after installation has been completed and kept on site for later inspection of the Fallnet.

Minimum information required in the installation documentation:

  • Object address
  • Installation company
  • Responsible fitter
  • Fallnet® serial numbers
  • Superimposed / extra load details (which bulk material, bulk weight, enclose delivery bill if applicable)
  • Installation plan (please also enter the serial numbers there)

The installation plan should be clearly visible to everyone on the building, e.g. at the roof exit.

Confirmation by the person responsible for installation (signed by this person):

  • The Fallnet® Installation Instructions have been followed.
  • Contractor as planned
  • The minimum load specifications have been complied with
  • Photo documentation, especially of details that are invisible in the final state.

3.3 Handover of the Fallnet® SR documents to the client/owner

The scope of delivery includes the following documents to be handed over:

  • Instructions for installation and use
  • Please enter the serial number(s) of the Fallnet®. You will find this on the identification mark directly on the product. Fallnet® SR must be checked regularly. (You will receive one inspection card per product, but you can combine all serial numbers of a construction project on one inspection card)

The following should also be handed out:

  • Installation documentation
  • Site plan
