These Installation Instructions describe the essential steps for using this product. Please also observe the relevant standards and guidelines, in particular the occupational health and safety regulations.

Fasten Solar Mounting Profile to Solar Base Frame:

Hammer-head bolts and locking nuts M10 are required for fastening to the Solar Base Frame SGR.

Push the hammer-head bolt through the Solar Base Frame. Slide the SMP onto the bolt and fasten it with the locking nut (Tightening torque 20 Nm). A ratchet is helpful here. Repeat this procedure at all positions. Slide the rail connector into the narrow side of the SMP. Make sure that the hammer-head bolts are inserted correctly into the Mounting Profile (the head should be rotated by 90° so that the hammer-head bolt is firmly anchored in the SMP).


Installation Profile Connector:

The joints of the Solar Mounting Profiles can be linked using Profile Connectors. Slide the Profile Connector into the narrow side of the SMP. Make sure that the hammer-head bolts are inserted correctly into the SMP.

Slide the other profile onto the sticking out Connector. Tighten all bolts (20 Nm).


Note:
- SMP can be cut with a sliding compound mitre saw and a suitable saw blade.
- Maximum distance of Solar Base Frames 1,95 m at 75 kg/m² snow load.
- SMP overhang above SGR between 400-450 mm.
- Maximum overhang of solar module (above) SGR 350 mm.


Installation End Clamp:

Framed photovoltaic modules can be fixed to the SMP with the variable Middle and End Clamps. Two End Clamps are required for one module side. The End Clamp is fastened on the wide side of the SMP. Place the notch with the rubber on the edge of the profile and press forward until the Clamp engages.

The photovoltaic module is slid under the Clamps, which are then slightly tightened. On the other side the Middle Clamps are then inserted into the SMP, see following steps.


Installation Middle Clamp:

Two Middle Clamps are required per module joint. The Middle Clamp is used for two adjoining PV modules. It is fastened on the wide side of the SMP. Place the notch with the rubber on the edge of the profile and press forward until the Clamp engages.

Mount and align the solar modules. Tighten all bolts with 6 to 9 Nm.


Installation Cross Connector:

Place two solar mounting profiles at right angles to one another. Position the cross connector onto the rail from above. The screw on the cross connector must be inserted into the groove in the lower rail. At the same time, the retaining flange must engage with the upper rail. Then tighten the screw. Tightening torque: 20 Nm.


Installation Length Compensation Connector (optional):

To allow for thermal linear expansion of the SMP, expansion joints with a width of 15 mm should be formed every 12 m from an SMP length of 20 m.
Slide the length compensation connector into the narrow side of the SMP. Only push the connector halfway and tighten the two screws firmly (6 Nm).

Slide the second profile onto the sticking out Connector (see table for mounting gap). The Length Compensation Connector is only bolted on one side.
